I am freaking out. The very first blogger review for KISS IT has been posted and I'm FLOORED! Okay, so the ultimate letter grade is a little disappointing (I was always an A student...I have never been good at seeing B's), but the content of the review is so magical and perfect and thoughtful that I'm absolutely stunned and thrilled. Lilibeth of ChicaReader Reviews really GOT the book, and at the end of the day that's all I care about. I know this book is going to be loved by some, and probably hated by many others. It's not subtle, it's not your average romantic comedy (it's really not a romantic comedy at all - though it is funny and it is romantic in many ways), and it takes a stand on female sexuality - and that's what I love about it.

Here are some of the things the review had to say that make me giddy:

"I have to say that KISS IT is one of the most daring novels in the YA genre I have read yet. This close-to-vulgarity novel was a delight to read and a damn good sexual refreshment to YA novels everywhere.... Downing took a great risk with this one-a novel I'd compare easily to Judy Blume's FOREVER-and it payed off in sparks. KISS IT is no ordinary contemporary read, it deals with real life issues and wasn't afraid to tackle them."

Please read the book for yourself - and let me know what you think. I haven't written a lesson into this book, it's not a moral tale...keep that in mind.

Thank you, Lilibeth, for the early review and your thoughtful praise and criticism. I love to hear both sides.

Later,
E.
